Menorca: Hidden gems for foodies

Menorca has some fantastic food on offer especially if you like seafood.

Regional specialities include red prawns, lobster risotto (go to Sa Llagosta for this), clams, queso de Mahón, and masses of fresh fish such as snapper, bream and mullet.

Menorca grows some of the best "stone fruits" you will ever taste; peach, nectarine, apricots, plums, as well as other soft fruits. Menorcan parties are also fantastic, there are bakeries all over the island to try; ensaïmada, rubiols, pastissets and many more.

You also cannot leave Menorca without having a pomada, made using the famous gin Xoriguer. Head to one of the bars around Mercat des Claustre on a Friday or Saturday evening to soak up the atmosphere.
